Robert LeBlanc Arraigned on Child Rape and Indecent Assault Charges

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SALEM, Mass. – April 2, 2025 – The Office of Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker announces that Robert LeBlanc, 80, of Methuen, was arraigned today in Superior Court in Salem on child rape and indecent assault charges. LeBlanc is charged with: rape of a child, indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, two counts of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older, and attempt to commit crime – indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older. LeBlanc pled not guilty to all charges today.

The Hon. Salim Tabit imposed conditions agreed upon by the prosecution and defense: that LeBlanc report immediately to the Methuen Police Department for booking, that he stay away and have no contact with any victim or witness in the case, and that he may have no unsupervised contact with children under the age of 18.

Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Capone is prosecuting the case on behalf of the Commonwealth. The defendant is represented by attorney Gerard LaFlamme. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for May 20.

All suspects and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
