Man Shot and Killed in Lawrence Park

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LAWRENCE, Mass. – July 8, 2024 (Updated July 9, 2024) – On July 8 at 12:18 a.m., Lawrence Police responded to a call at Riverfront State Park on Everett Street, where they found a 27-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound who was pronounced deceased on the scene, said Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker and Lawrence Police Chief Melix Bonilla. The deceased man has since been identified as Henry Marte, 27, of Lawrence. The Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit (SPDU) for Essex County is actively investigating the incident along with the Lawrence Police Detectives Unit.
