Medical Examiner identifies Merrimack River body

A body recovered from the Merrimack River in Methuen over the weekend has been positively identified, Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker announced Monday.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed that Ryan Cooper, 31, of Raymond, N.H., had been located after the Methuen Fire Department responded to a boat ramp at 1110 Riverside Drive, Methuen, about 12:45 p.m. on Sunday.

Methuen Police also responded, as did the Massachusetts State Police Dive Team.

Foul play is not suspected.
