Eric German-Pena Arraigned for Murder of Ilias Mavros

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Lynn, Mass. – February 10, 2025 – Investigators developed probable cause to charge Eric German-Pena, 25, of Lynn with the murder of Ilias Mavros, 48, of Lynn, Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker announces. German-Pena was arraigned in Lynn District Court on Thursday, February 6. The defendant pled not guilty and was ordered held without bail. He is scheduled to return to court for a hearing on March 6.

On the evening of Monday, February 3 at approximately 6:30 p.m., Lynn Police responded to a residence on Stanwood Street in Lynn to conduct a well-being check of the resident at the request of family members. Upon arrival, officers discovered Mavros with apparent signs of trauma. He was pronounced deceased on scene. The Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to Tucker's office, Lynn Police, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner investigated.

All suspects and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
