Marvin Santos Arraigned in Motor Vehicle Death of Christina Solivan

LAWRENCE, Mass. – November 21, 2024 – Marvin Santos, 36, of Salem, New Hampshire, has been arraigned in connection with a motor vehicle crash on Saturday, November 16, that killed another motorist, Christina Solivan, 38, of Lawrence, a mother of three, according to the Office of Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker.
Authorities say Santos’ 2019 Jaguar E-Pace collided with Solivan’s 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer on Route 93 northbound in Andover south of Route 495 at approximately 3:43 a.m. Saturday. Solivan was transported via MedFlight from Lawrence General Hospital to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston in critical condition and was later pronounced deceased. Santos was transported to Lawrence General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Santos waived extradition in Salem, N.H. District Court on Monday and appeared in custody today in Lawrence District Court to face charges of homicide by operating a motor vehicle in a negligent manner and while under the influence of liquor, a felony; operating under the influence of liquor (second offense), a misdemeanor; and two civil motor vehicle infractions: a breakdown lane violation and speeding. Massachusetts State Police investigated the incident.
In court today, Santos pled not guilty and the Hon. Sarah Kennedy set bail at $5,000. Santos is scheduled to return to court on January 7, 2025 for a probable cause hearing.
All suspects and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
