17-Year-Old Shot and Killed in Lawrence

LAWRENCE, Mass. – July 7, 2024 (Updated July 9, 2024) – Saturday night at approximately 9:47 p.m., Lawrence Police responded to a report of shots fired in the Brook Street area. Upon arrival, the responding units located a 17-year-old male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was treated on scene by paramedics and EMTs from Lawrence General Hospital, and subsequently transported by ambulance to that facility, where he was pronounced deceased. The deceased boy has since been identified as Albert Valentin Arias Moscat of Lawrence.
An active investigation is being conducted by Lawrence Police and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit for Essex County. Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker, Lawrence Police Chief Melix Bonilla, and investigating law enforcement officials ask anyone with information about this incident to contact Lawrence Police at 978-794-5900 or the Essex County SPDU at 978-745-8908.
